Abstract
The Joy Luck Club is written by Amy Tan, which attracts a great many attentions among readers from some countries or states. Moreover, this novel also attracts many critics from all over the world. This dissertation will try to find an objective stance from every perspective to analyze the conflicts, due to different cultures and generation gap and so on, between four Chinese immigrant mothers and their daughters who are raised in America. Furthermore, it will reveal that conflicts are indispensable in the different cultural atmosphere. In addition, this dissertation will describe the process from conflicts to harmonies and summarize some effective ways to deal with such conflicts.
