Abstract
This thesis is a study on translation of characters' names in Jenner's Journey to the West, from the perspective of translation ethics. From analyzing Jenner’s version and Wu Chengen’s origin version, we learn that the sharing of culture treasures needs a perfect translation, in this way it can be the center of attention in a crowd in the palace of the culture. Language is the carrier of culture. Literature works translation should have faithfulness, expressiveness, and taste, while carrying on the cultural communication. Through probing into the Jenner’s version, we put forward some problems in literature translation and some suggestions to the work of translation to make more literature works familiar with all people.
