Abstract
Robinson Crusoe is the representative work of the 18th century English writer, Daniel Defoe, and it produces a lot of influence all over the world. The main character Robinson has very striking characteristics which bring him unpredictable difficulties, but at the same time help him overcome them and gain a kind of new life. In practical life a person’s success is closely related with his characters. This thesis focuses on the analysis of Robinson’s characters, and discusses the inseparable relationship between his success and his own character. It also points out that readers may learn a lot from Robinson’s experience. This research is quite instructive to how the young people in modern society improve themselves and achieve success.
