Abstract
Reading is always the key and difficult part in English teaching. Therefore, one of the most important goals for the teachers is how to improve students’ reading competence efficiently. This paper reviews some common reading models and reading strategies, while a new teaching method of English reading is provided by Clue Based Approach(CBA) whose purpose is to help students develop the reading efficiently. This paper, taking CBA as an example, presents some useful strategies that make full use of CBA in the experiment to help students take isolated points into a whole. It is to analyze the importance and influence of CBA in English reading teaching of high school through the experiment.
