Abstract
A Streetcar Named Desire, written by Tennessee Williams, is a feminist play. Blanche in the play is a lonely, fragile and abnormal image. The sense of social superior, the manners of aloofness and acolasia are the exterior causes of her miserable destiny. This paper describes Blanche how to choose her life and how to destroy herself in the base of social reform. Its aim is to analyze the image of southern lady, discuss the change of Blanche’s characters with feminism and finally point out the disappearance of southern lady.
