Abstract: Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is an American famous novelist in the period of modernism, his novels record the 1920s and 1930s of the United States. With the rapid development of film industry, his writing is inseparably connected with the art of film. Based on the research by the scholar home and abroad, I will discuss in this paper how the image narrative techniques are used in the Great Gatsby. The reasons why these techniques appeared in his novels and the impacts on readers and novel writing are explored as well.
