Abstract: For all languages, writing is an effective method for us to evaluate language learning. And writing can reflect language learners’ overall language competence objectively and comprehensively. However, the feedback of composition has become a matter for both teachers and students. Thus, automatic essay scoring system (AES) is booming naturally. It’s not only a symbol of social progress, but also a powerful auxiliary mechanism to overcome inefficiencies of human scoring. In this paper, the author first reviews the current condition of English writing and English scoring. And then it studied Jukuu automatic essay scoring system in depth, analyzing its advantages and inadequacies and proposing strategies.
