Abstract: Vocabulary teaching in reading classes is one of the most important parts in middle schools. And vocabulary is the most fundamental element for students to learn English. So, it is necessary for us to know how to make the vocabulary teaching more efficient and effective in middle school English reading classes. The thesis firstly explores the problems in vocabulary teaching in reading classes, and then gives some assumptions about it. Finally, through analyzing the steps of reading, it discusses some effective strategies for students so as to help them to enlarge vocabulary.
