Abstract:Nowadays,with the rapid development of globalization process,more and more interdisciplinary talents are needed to meet the needs of the society.
Meanwhile,English becomes the universal language.A large number of non-native speakers are using English not only for work,but also for other practical purposes,such as traveling,playing computer game,etc.Teaching pronunciation is an important part in English language teaching.In the learning of pronunciation,students will know more about English in the use of communication.However,there are many schools which don’t pay attention to it and neglect the importance of teaching pronunciation.This problem needs to be solved as soon as possible.This paper discusses the situation of teaching pronunciation in English language teaching and tries to expose some problems in teaching pronunciation in China covering the range of all stages of English education before university and make some suggestions to improve the present situation of teaching pronunciation.
