Abstract:Pearl Harbor is a typical movie with a theme of war-and-love, which shows American history and culture. The movie reflects the brutality of war, as well as the beauty of love, in which war comes with death, loss of peace, and pain and heartbreaking; love is accompanied by hope, courage, comfort, salvation, eternity, and duty and responsibility. Also, this movie has its own features different from other American movies or Chinese movies entitled war and love in ways of expression, development and ending of the plot and even images of characters. This thesis develops a detailed explanation of what are along with war and love, focus on the relationship established among war, love and humans through the deep exploration of the love story, the war sequences, the influence of war and the contrast with other movies. This paper can lead movie audiences to have a full comprehension of this kind of movie, achieving some deep inside thoughts and considerations about this movie.
