ABSTRACT
This paper makes a comparative study of the image of farmers in The Good Earth and Life And Death Are Wearing Me Out which are respectively written by Pearl S Buck and Mo Yan. It reveals that both writers vividly described the life of Chinese farmers at different periods despite their different national identity. In fact, Buck and Mo Yan are very famous around the world because they are Nobel prize winners. They were quite familiar with Chinese farmers' life and they had great respect and admiration of Chinese farmers who are hardworking, kind-hearted and brave. With the effort of Pearl S Buck and Mo Yan, people of the world get a better understanding of the Chinese Farmer and their lives.
