ABSTRACT

 

With the rapid development of China’s economy and the widespread of cultures, there are more and more international students coming to China, including students from Africa. These international students need to make a lot of self adaptation in a new social cultural environment so as to face a lot of new challenges and to acquire a cross-cultural identity. This thesis puts its purpose on the intercultural adaptation of international students in China, taking the African students in a university of Jiangsu Province as an example. The first part is a brief introduction of this thesis. In the second part, the previous research on intercultural adaptation will be concluded. In the third part, the characteristics of the African students in China will be stated. In the forth part, this thesis will analyze the problems of the intercultural adaptation of  the African students in China. Finally, some possible measures will be probed in order to make the process of intercultural adaptation a more enjoyable experience.
