Abstract: Translator’s note as a paratext is not only a way for translators to correct the errors in the original text, a translator’s means to supplement the information gap caused by cultural differences, but also an approach for translators to convey their academic view directly to readers. Translator’s notes have a guiding function in readers’ reading and understanding process, and they also have a nominative function in the explanation and transmission of terms. However, in studies related to translation, the textual value and practical meaning of translator’s notes are often ignore. According to the analyses of situational, practical and functional features of translator’s notes, this passage concludes the position and function of adding translator’s notes in the process of translation, and investigates the principles and standards of translator’s notes.
