Abstract: Along with reforms of education in recent years, more and more scholars have paid attention to affective factors in English teaching. Motivation, attitude and character account a great deal for the efficiency and success of foreign language learning in the aspect of affective factors. In this paper, based on affective theories and researches on affective language teaching at home and abroad, to counter traits of primary school students, primary school English teacher and English language learning, certain theoretical research and realistic investigation on the possibility of carrying out affective teaching in primary English classes will be made. Through the analysis of three case studies concerning learning motivation, learning attitude and learners’ character, readers can see that affective teaching would promote primary school English teaching to some degree.
