Abstract: As an important part of film, film title contains the theme of a film and expresses the connotation of the movie, and most important of all, serves the function of attracting audience. So far there is no agreed principle of film title. In the light of this background, the paper is to make a tentative study of E-C film title translation from the perspective of functional equivalence. The paper aims to argue that there is much room for its application. It is concluded that if we use Functional Equivalence properly, we may produce a satisfying and understandable film title.
