Abstract: Family education plays an important role in human education,and it also makes great significance to individual growth and social development. With the development of economic globalization, China and America attach more importance to family education. This paper tries to make comparison between Chinese and American family education from the aspects of education aims, contents and methods. Meanwhile, it analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of family education in China and America, and the causes of differences from the perspective of historical backgrounds, employment environment, social conditions as well as traditional culture of two countries. The aim of this paper is to break through the current situation of family education in China and America, taking the essence and discarding the dross. Hopefully, we can learn from each other and provide experience and reference for future family education in both countries.
