Abstract:Taking the electronic product instructions of Apple company as the example, this thesis analyzes the syntactic features of the electronic product instruction based on the adaptation theory. It is found that as an application-oriented text, the English instruction of electronic products mainly consists of declarative sentences, imperative sentences and passive voice sentences. Moreover, according to stylistic differences between Chinese and English instructions, this thesis puts forward corresponding translation strategies, including voice conversion, mood conversion and sentence structure conversion. This thesis is aimed at explore the application of adaptation theory in the translation of electronic product instructions so as to broaden the scope of its research. At the same time, from the aspect syntactic features, the translation strategies of the electronic product instructions are supplemented and improved.
