摘要：2002年11月《中国—东盟自由贸易区框架协议》和《农业合作谅解备忘录》的签署，标志着中国—东盟自由贸易区建设的正式启动。中国－东盟自由贸易区建成后，将形成一个拥有18亿消费者、近2万亿美元国内生产总值、1.2万亿美元贸易总量的经济区，将是发展中国家组成的最大的自由贸易区，是仅次于欧盟和北美自由贸易区的全球第三大自由贸易区。 广西作为连接我国与东盟各国最便捷的国际大通道之一，作为与中南半岛国家山水相连的农业区域，如何在这一重大历史机遇面前发挥自身优势，最大限度地缩小挑战所带来的冲击，以加快发展，是当前广西对外开放工作中和广西农业战略性调整中一项十分迫切而重要的任务。关键词：中国-东盟自由贸易区 广西农业 贸易 农业经济

建立中国—东盟自由贸易区，对中国与东盟都有着积极的意义。中国—东盟自由贸易区的建立，一方面有利于巩固和加强中国与东盟之间的友好合作关系，有利于中国与发展中国家、周边国家的团结合作，也有利于东盟在国际事务上提高地位、发挥作用。另一方面，有利于进一步促进了中国和东盟各自的经济发展，扩大双方贸易和投资规模，促进区域内各国之间的物流、资金流和信息流，促进区域市场的发展，创造更多的财富，提高本地区的整体竞争能力，为区域内各国人民谋求福利。与此同时，中国—东盟自贸区的建立，有利于推动东盟经济一体化，对世界经济增长也有积极作用。
