摘要：本文旨在通过对哈代诗歌的研究揭示出哈代思想感情的丰富性与深刻性，重点分析哈代的四大主题诗所表现出的悲观意识及诗中象征手法的运用。近年来，国内一些学者把哈代定位于一位悲观主义诗人，但是通过对哈代诗歌的认真研读，这种论断受到了质疑。哈代实为一位反映生活本质，在更真实的层面上呼吁人们直面生活的痛楚，要勇于去承担生活重负的现实主义诗人。本文的目的在于告诉读者哈代的悲观绝不是妥协与懦弱，而是一种直面不幸的真实和勇敢，因而更加具有积极的意义。

Abstract：This article aims to pass on Thomas Hardy’s poetry study reveals rich and depth of Hardy’s thoughts, focusing on analysis of four major them of Thomas Hardy’s poems have shown pessimism awareness and use of poetic symbolism. Recently, some Chinese scholars consider Hardy as a pessimistic poet. This argument is questioned after a serious study of Hardy’s poetry. Hardy is a realistic poet who depicting the true nature of life, appeals to face up to the suffering in the world and to bear the heavy burden in life. Aims to tell the reader Hardy’s pessimism is absolutely not compromise and cowardly, but a true and brave face misfortune.
