施工进度计划的种类和施工组织设计相适应，分为总进度计划和单位工程施工进度计划。施工总进度计划包括建设项目（企业、住宅区等）的施工进度计划和施工准备阶段的进度计划。它按生产工艺和建设要求，确定投产建筑群的主要和辅助的建筑物与构筑物的施工顺序、相互衔接和开竣工时间，以及施工准备工程的顺序和工期。单位工程施工进度计划是总进度计划有关项目施工进度的具体化，一般土建工程的施工组织设计还考虑了专业和安装工程的施工时间。
