摘要： 区域空间的演进是必然的，随着经济社会的发展区域空间的形态也随之而改变，导致区域空间演进的两大因素，其一便是交通格局的变化，其二则是区域发展战略的调整。两者的变化直接导致了区域空间的演进，尤其是改革开放以来，经济迅速发展，区域空间的演化过程愈加明显，而江苏省则尤为突出，自改革开放以来，江苏省由简单的细“一”字型发展至粗“一”字型，然后发展成“二”字型，按其发展的趋势，以后的江苏省将会发展成为“工”字型结构，由于江苏省区域空间的演进直接导致了区域间的产业变化，区域间的差异也日趋明显，研究江苏省的区域空间的演进过程将会对缩小江苏省区域间的差异，协调区域间的发展，因地制宜的发展起到至关重要的作用。
