Abstract:Listening has been a stumbling block for many students on their way of language learning. Therefore, how to improve their listening proficiency by means of listening strategies has become a hotly discussed topic among specialists and scholars. However, although they were favored by many western researchers, few were made among independent colleges. This dissertation adopts self-made questionnaires on independent colleges, analyzing the results regarding the application of metacognitive strategies in English listening by junior English majors. The survey shows that the majority of the subjects profess to use a variety of the techniques to meet the challenges of listening in their own right. But there is an obvious contrast in the use of metacognitive strategies between high-proficiency students and low-proficiency students. Apart from that, it also reveals which metacognitive strategies are most frequently used and favored by English majors. We hope that this dissertation can provide some insights for English learners in their process of listening study.

摘要:在语言学习的过程中,听力一直是学习者英语学习路上的绊脚石。因此,对于如何通过听力策略提高学习者英语听力水平,成为不少专家学者热烈讨论的一个话题。然而,在得到众多学者青睐的同时,对独立学院的研究少之又少。本文采用问卷调查法,对独立学院进行研究,分析了英语专业高年级学生在听力学习中元认知策略的使用。调查结果表明大部分英语专业高年级学生都根据自己的能力与情况使用了不同的元认知策略。但在元认知策略的应用上,高低水平的英语专业高年级学生之间有着明显的差别。此外,本文还列出了英语专业高年级学生最为常用和认为最行之有效的元认知策略。我们希望本文能为英语学习者在听力学习过程中提供一些见解。
