Abstract：Due to the differences in the history, living environment, geographical landscape, religion, etc, a variety of unique cultural systems, ways of thinking and values come into being in different ethnic groups. Culture is the product of society. Different cultural background and cultural tradition make it considerably different for eastern and western people in way of thinking, value, code of conduct and way of life. Film is an expression of culture. Gua Sha Treatment is a typical film that reflects the differences between Chinese and American cultures. This thesis focuses on the family view, friends view, and the face perception reflected in the film to explore the differences between eastern and western cultures, the root causes of cultural conflicts and ways to cultural reconciliation. With the deeper knowledge of each other, conflicts caused by cultural differences will gradually reduce and the quality of communication will be further improved.

摘要：各民族由于历史渊源、生活环境、地缘地貌、宗教信仰等的不同形成了各自独特的文化体系、思维方式和价值取向。文化是社会的产物，不同的文化背影和文化传统，使中西方在思维方式、价值观念、行为准则和生活方式等方面存在相当大的文化差异。当来自不同文化背景的人们相互接触时，文化差异和相互不了解就很可能导致冲突。电影是文化的一种表现方式。《刮痧》就是一部典型的反映中美文化差异的电影。本文通过中美家庭观、朋友观、面子观以及对子女的教育这几方面，重点探讨电影所体现的中西方文化差异并找出其原因和解决途径。通过《刮痧》探索文化差异，有助于中西方不断熟悉对方的文化，减少因文化差异引起的冲突，并进一步提高交际质量。
