Abstract：Reduplicated word is an important speech of rhetoric in Chinese classical poetry, and it should be properly reflected in the translation. Reduplicated words in The Book of Songs are the perfect unity of the beauty of rhythm, image and rhetoric, which is simple, flexible but lyrical. In the translation of reduplicated words in The Book of Songs, in addition to the expressive meaning, the form is also of great importance. Based on Relevance Theory, this thesis probes how to obtain a combination of translation with form and meaning of reduplicated words in The Book of Songs. It points out that in the process of translating, translator should keep the consistency between the translation and the original in terms of reduplicated form and the semantic reference to achieve the optimal relevance between target readers and the original text.
The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter One introduces The Book of Songs, Reduplicated words and Relevance Theory briefly. Chapter Two elaborates the theoretical foundation. In this chapter, it introduces the development of Relevance Theory, its definition and principles and the relationship with translation. Chapter Three discusses the definition, forms and features of reduplicated words and points out that the translation of reduplicated words should be achieved under the guidance of Relevance Theory. Chapter Four studies the translation of reduplicated words with analysis on examples from The Book of Songs of different translated versions. Chapter Five concludes the findings of this thesis and points out the deficiencies.

摘要：叠词是中国古典诗词中的重要辞格，在英译中应恰如其分地反映出来。《诗经》中的叠词是融形美、音美和意美为一体的绝佳的语言艺术。朴实中透着灵动，诗意盎然。《诗经》中的叠词除去表达意义，其形式特征也是翻译中所需要传达的重要内容。本文从关联理论出发，探讨《诗经》中叠词翻译时形与意的取舍，指出在翻译过程中，译者要努力达到译文与原文在形式和意义上的一致性，以实现译入语读者与原文间的最佳关联。
论文第一章主要主要介绍《诗经》中的叠词和关联理论。第二章主要从关联理论的发展，关联理论的定义和原则，关联理论和翻译的关系对本文的理论基础进行详细阐述。第三章通过叠词的定义，类型和特征的阐述指出叠词翻译应在关联理论指导下实现。第四章借助不同版本译文实例分析关联理论指导下的叠词翻译实践。第五章对论文研究成果进行总结并指出不足之处。
