Abstract: Wuthering Heights is the only novel written by Emily Brontë. The love tragedy in the novel has been widely studied. This paper focuses its study on the heroine Catherine and aims to analyze the influence of flaws in her characters on her tragedy in Wuthering Heights. With detailed evidence in Catherine’s living environment, changes in life and experiences in love, three aspects of flaws in her characters are found as rebellion and capriciousness, naivety and cowardice, vanity and selfishness. The paper also displays how these flaws come into being, how they are embodied, and what consequences they lead to. Thus the significant influence of the flaws in her characters on her tragedy of love is found.

摘要：《呼啸山庄》是英国女作家艾米莉·勃朗特惟一一部小说，小说中的爱情悲剧也广泛为大家所研究和探索。本文以小说女主人公凯瑟琳为主要分析对象，重点讨论其性格弱点对其爱情悲剧所产生的影响。结合凯瑟琳的生长环境、生活变化和情感经历，本文总结出了她性格中叛逆而固执、天真却软弱、虚荣且自私三大方面的弱点，仔细讨论了其性格弱点的成因、表现形式以及造成的后果，从而发现这些性格弱点对她的爱情悲剧的重大影响。
