Abstract:After entering into WTO, Chinese economy has changed dramatically. It brought opportunity to China, but on the other hand, it brought challenges to China too. Especially for China’s bank industry. According to the agreement between China and WTO, China should annul all restrictions on foreign capital banks before 2007.And China, has fulfilled the promise to allow foreign capital banks to offer overall RMB services to domestic resident. It is a symbol of the beginning of a competition between local banks and foreign banks. Nevertheless, it is also a motivation of improving China’s banking system, and China’s economy. This essay will focus on what opportunities and challenges have brought to China and how will they motivate the development of Chinese economy and society (On human resources; On optimizing resources disposition; On Challenges and pressures on government’s economical macro regulation power, etc.), and try to find out how can Chinese local banks improve themselves to catch up with the international standard.

摘要:加入世界贸易组织后，中国经济已发生了急剧的变化。它给中国经济带来机遇，而在另一方面，它也带来了挑战，特别对于中国的银行业。根据中国与WTO达成的协议，加入世贸组织后，中国要在2007年之前废除一切对外资银行进入中国的限制，而中国亦已兑现了承诺并允许外资银行提供完整的人民币业务给国内居民，这象征着本地银行和外资银行之间的竞争的开始。不过，这也是一个完善中国的银行体系和中国经济的动力。这篇论文将侧重于什么样的机遇和挑战会带给中国和它们将如何推动中国经济发展和社会发展（人力资源;优化资源配置;对政府的经济宏观调控能力的挑战等），并浅谈中国本地银行应如何应对挑战，提升自己来赶上国际标准。
