Abstract:From the objective reality, the writer of this thesis tries to approach a subject on international status of English in future. Here, this thesis focuses on five aspects on English: the origin, existence, teaching, popularity and the prediction on international status. By the analysis of English, we can not only perceive the mutual connections between histories, economy and culture with English, and the impacts taken by teaching and motive on English, but also notice with the challenges taken by economy globalization, the second language and change on the status of English, which all affect the international status of English in future. Now, English is not merely regarded as a foreign language, and it becomes a popular use as a basic skill and the inevitable means for economy globalization. Thus, it is necessary for researching the international status of English.

中文摘要:本文作者尝试从实际情况的视角去探讨英语在未来的国际地位。这里，本文关注了五个主要方面，它们分别是：英语的起源、形成、教学、普及性以及对国际地位的预测。通过分析我们不仅看到历史、经济、文化对英语的互动，看到教学以及学习的动机对英语的影响，也看到英语的地位正遭受全球化经济、第二语种、裂变等挑战。以上，都对英语在未来的国际地位造成影响。英语已经不再是一门外语，而是已成为一种普遍适用的基本技能，成为全球化经济的必不可少的工具。因此，英语在国际上的地位有探讨研究的必要。
