Abstract:With the development of English learning, it becomes evident that the modern learning mode which is the student-centered and teacher-second will replace the traditional learning mode which is the teacher-centered and student-second. The learning strategies may have big impact on learning outcome, therefore, the study of the learning strategies of the high-score and the low-score students could be effective way to help English major students passing the TEM-4 and improve learning efficiency.
This paper summarizes the results of a survey among the high-scorers and the low-scorers of TEM-4 among English major students in grade 2006 at the College of Arts & Science of Beijing Union University. Then the thesis describes the process and results of two interviews, one being high-scorer and another low-scorer in the hope of finding the features of learning strategies for the high-scorers and the low-scorers. It is the hope of the author that this writing could serve in some way to provide more insight for teachers of English language and the learners of English identify the suitable learning strategies in passing TEM-4 and increase their teaching and learning efficiency.

中文摘要:随着大学生英语学习的不断深入,传统的以教师教学为主,学生学习为辅的学习模式势必会被以学生自主学习为主,教师指导为辅的新型学习模式所取代。由于学习策略的使用对学习效果有很大的影响,因此,研究英语专业四级考试高分者与低分者的学习策略,是帮助英语专业学生通过英语专业四级考试的有效方法。
本文首先通过对大学应用文理学院英语系06级英语专业四级考试高分者与低分者学习策略的问卷调查,找出英语专业四级考试高分组与低分组在学习策略使用上的差异,之后结合对一名英语专业四级考试高分者与一名低分者的个案研究,分别总结出英语专业四级考试高分者与低分者在学习策略中的特征,从而帮助英语学习者找到或改进适合自己特点的学习策略,提高学习成效。
