Abstract:This dissertation focuses on making a research of inferences in English reading, which takes up a big share in reading comprehension and most of the students find that it is difficult to understand and solve. It is the key point for the college students. Students could understand the ways solve those problems after reading this paper. Firstly, in my thesis I have introduced the types of inferences and its function in reading comprehension. The two functions are to improve the students reading ability and to cultivate the students their inference ability. I have also introduced the typical types of inferences and their ways of thinking. Inference of author’s attitude and inference on passage and detail inferences are researched in part two. In this paper, the method of solving the passage inference is to find out every topic sentence for the passage. To sum up, making inference in reading comprehension through questionnaire is proved that it plays important role. And inference has made impact on future development.

中文摘要:本文着眼于对英语阅读中常见的各种推断做出的研究，该推断法在阅读理解中占的比例比较大，也是众多考生的重点难点。通过本文可以更明确的了解到掌握这种题型的解答方法可以有效的提高英语阅读能力。首先介绍了推断的类型以及它的两方面作用，就是提高阅读能力同时也培养了学生的推理能力；接着介绍了推断题的几种常见推断题及它们各自的解题思路，主要有人物性格特点及作者观点态度的推断，细节题和总结题的推断等，本文在对篇章的推断法中，提出要抓住中心词和关键句的方法来解题；对于细节题和态度题分别以结合上下文找出关键句子和找出问题答案的相关内容进行分析， 通过问卷调查的方式，总结出推断方法在阅读中起着重要作用，同时对以后的研究有着重要的影响。
