Abstract: The paper uses theoretical and empirical methods to study the correlation between lexical chunks and Chinese college English majors’ English writing ability. The writer introduces the role of lexical chunks in second language acquisition and some previous research on the relationship between lexical chunks and college English writing. Then the literature review on lexical chunks is discussed, including the definitions, classification and functions. After analyzing the results of the empirical research, the writer presents some pedagogical implications, limitations of the thesis and some suggestions for future research.

摘要:本文用实证研究分析高级英语学习者写作中语块的使用情况与写作能力的关系。本文首先介绍语块在二语习得中的作用,回顾前人关于探讨语块与大学英语写作能力相关性的研究,然后对语块的定义、分类和功能进行文献回顾。通过对实证研究结果的分析,作者给出一些教学启示,并指出本研究的缺陷,对后人的研究提出一些建议。
