Abstract: William Butler Yeats, a famous Irish poet, is a forerunner and representative poet of contemporary poetry as well as a great master of symbolism. The development of his symbolic works at his prime stage not only embodies his poetic style, but also reflects the changes in the poet's mind and his outlook on life. This paper aims to discuss the influence of mysticism, romanticism as well as Irish nationalism reflected in the symbolic significance in The Rose by Yeats including When You Are Old, White Birds, The Rose of The World, etc. which can help readers understand the characteristics of the symbolic significance of Yeats and how Yeats has affected the whole world.

摘要：著名的爱尔兰诗人威廉·巴特勒·叶芝是现代诗的先驱和代表性诗人，同时也是一位象征主义大师。他早期的象征主义诗歌作品不仅体现了他的诗歌风格，也反映了诗人的内心以及所处社会生活的变化。本文旨在研究神秘主义、浪漫主义以及爱尔兰民族主义对叶芝早期诗集《玫瑰》中象征主义运用的影响。《玫瑰》收录的诗篇包括著名的《当你老了》、《白鸟》、《尘世的玫瑰》等。研究这些诗作有助于我们进一步了解叶芝诗歌中象征主义的特点，以及叶芝对文学的重要影响。
