Abstract:To learn English well, vocabulary is an indispensable prerequisite. Although students in college-age have certain vocabulary base, vocabulary teaching is also the important component of English teaching,it can create conditions for students learning better.
This survey is to investigate and analyze the current situation of college English vocabulary teaching in Honghe University through questionnaire and interviews. There exist shortcomings in present college English vocabulary teaching. These factors cause that the vocabulary teaching can’t achieve the desired effect and students’ learning is not good.
According to the results of the survey and inspiration about English vocabulary teaching from The Input Hypothesis of Krashen, the author is to give some reasonable suggestions by analyzing those problems existing among teachers and students. On the basis of renewing the concept of vocabulary teaching, the aim of the research is to perfect teachers’ teaching content, to improve the teaching methods and the level of vocabulary teaching, and to enhance students’ English abilities.

中文摘要:要学好英语,词汇是必不可少的条件。尽管在大学阶段学生已经有一定的词汇基础,但词汇教学依然是英语教学的一个重要组成部分,它能为学生更好的学习创造条件。
本研究通过问卷调查和访谈,对目前红河学院大学英语词汇教学现状进行了调查分析,并发现词汇教学过程中存在着一些问题,包括学生和教师两个方面,这些因素导致了词汇教学达不到预期效果,学生的词汇学习情况不理想。
鉴于调查结果,以及从克拉申的输入假说理论中得到的启示,笔者对目前红河学院大学英语词汇教学中存在的问题进行了相应的对策分析,并提出了一些合理的建议,在更新教学观念的基础上,旨在完善教学内容、改进教学方法,从而提高词汇教学水平,并全面提高学生的英语能力。
