Abstract:As a major research topic in the field of speech studies, the study of using English to make an effective speech has excited great interests in many colleges. The present study aims to teach college students how to give an English speech more fluently and successfully, explore the current situation of making English speeches for college students and explain the preparation of making speeches in English. The present study is carried out based on The Art of Public Speaking (1982) theory. Some resources from Lucas Stephen E (1986) are collected and analyzed in detail to identify the English language features and three parts of an English speech. It is hoped that the findings of this dissertation will provide insights into the comprehension of English speech and give some inspiration for related occupation.

中文摘要:作为演讲研究领域的主要课题之一，有关用英语作精彩演讲的研究受到了许多大学的广泛关注。
本文旨在指导大学生如何流利并精彩地进行英语演讲，分析当今大学生英语演讲存在的问题并介绍了英语演讲的准备过程。本次研究主要参照《演讲的艺术》的书中理论，收集了卢卡斯.史蒂芬伊理论的部分资料，用其分析并阐明了英语演讲的语言特点及演讲的三大部分。希望本文的研究结果能为英语演讲研究提供启发和帮助。
