Abstract:In response to the surging role that China plays in the international arena, Chinese media are drawing more and more global attention. China’s news English emerges with its unique Chinese characteristics. This paper takes China Daily as an example, a frontier and representative medium to study such phenomena on the theoretical basis of language socialization. From the perspective of language and society, this paper tries to analyze the characteristics and illustrate the generation of China’s news English and investigate the native speakers’ reception of such foreignized English, It is hoped that this study may add theoretical and systematic knowledge to China’s news English, further disseminating Chinese traditional culture as well as Chinese way of thinking, and thus help to prepare for the internationalization of the Chinese media.
