Abstract:More and more foreign films and TV programs have entered to China nowadays as a result of the frequent cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. And many people are learning foreign languages by watching them, so the quality of subtitle translation is of great importance now.
Based on the Skopos Theory, and by means of case study, this thesis mainly makes the study on the features of subtitle translation and the effective translation strategies employed in E-C subtitle translation of American TV serials to reveal the instructive significance of translation theory and translation strategy in translation activity.
