Abstract:The autonomous learning is bound up with the strategies use in listening. Therefore, there is more space for students to brush up their learning strategies after class. Listening strategies is critically important to language learning. The paper first begins with the introduction of the Flavell’s theory and attaches great importance to the metacognitive strategies used in listening: planning, monitoring and evaluation. This paper involves the previous research made by scholars and our brief summary with my personal opinions. Students are aware of the strategies used in listening, but there is more space for them to propel.
