Abstract:With increasing popularity of mass media, films have become a significant part of human modern civilized life. Hollywood, the core of the film industry of the United States, produces numerous movies every year and exports them to the world. These movies mainly reflect the numerous elements in America. The most popular and well known to public one is undoubtedly the individualistic heroism. Captain America, one of the most popular movies in America and even the whole world, is a typical representative of individual heroism in American cinema. This thesis mainly intends to analyze American individualistic heroism in many ways by a case study of the movie Captain America, aiming at making people better understand the culture and values of the Americans.
