Abstract:Loanwords, especially English loanwords, directly make a huge influence on Chinese . From the research of domestic and foreign linguists on the study of loan words, this paper expounds the definition, the way of forms, causes of the formation and importance of loan words. English language has already infiltrated in Internet, food, music, sports and other fields. Have a great impact on our lives. Transliteration, free translation, lettered words all reflect the influence of English Loanwords on Chinese . This study makes English learners have a better understanding of English loan words. English loan words on Chinese, not only expand the Chinese vocabulary, but also greatly enrich the Chinese language. But the impact of English loan words on Chinese also can be positive and negative due to different living environment and customs of the users. In the face of English loan words we should take the essence and discard the dregs. And we should adopt the right attitude to face the cultural exchange and fusion.
