Abstract
The aim of this research is to analyze English teachers’ opinions about the application of commonly-used games in primary school English class. The research is designed for analyzing the effects of games commonly used in primary school English class. Data are collected through classroom observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Participants consist of 62 instructors from Grade Six of Greentown Yuhua Primary School in Hangzhou. Based on the data analysis, four rules are formed to help English teachers reflect on English teaching and improve teaching skills in class. Data analysis reveals that the application of commonly-used games as an instructional support tool may affect the way how games are employed in English class, efficiency in English learning, and the perception and attitudes of instructors and students towards these games.
