Abstract
The thesis not only tries to discuss the similar to the 18th female and the modern female in views of marriage but also analyses the differences of five main couples (Bingley & Jane, Darcy & Elizabeth, Collins & Charlotte, Wickham & Lydia and Mr. & Mrs. Bennet) in Pride and Prejudice in order to reflect the realistic meaning. The author uses the female unique delicate and gentle to describe the eighteenth century rural life. The novel takes Darcy and Elizabeth’s love story as a clue, and in which interspersed with the other four marriages, respectively, show us that different people has vary views of marriage. The novel has successfully created a number of female roles; they have different characteristics and life pursuit. At the same time, it also reflects the author's rational view of marriage--simply for the money to conclude the marriage is not desirable, but the marriage also connects with these factors.
