Abstract
The essay has discussed discourse analysis from the perspective of semantics. The paper has given a brief introduction on the definition of cross-cultural communication and the meaning and function of discourse analysis. Then it has tried to offer some common examples of discourse analysis to research the influence of different understanding of discourse analysis from the perspective of intercultural communication. From a cultural point of view, it has analyzed the speech act, speech event, and speech situation in cross-cultural discourse analysis; so we can better understand the cross-cultural discourse.
