Abstract: The film and television industry has developed rapidly in China and many foreign films have gradually entered the Chinese market, followed by the growth of subtitle translation of foreign films. However, there is no systematic study on film subtitle translation in China, which leads to the uneven quality of various network subtitle translation. Subtitle translation also needs the support of translation skills to achieve the function of information culture transmission and good viewing experience. This paper attempts to study the translation strategies and techniques of film subtitle translation from the perspective of skopostheorie and further supports the theory of film subtitles translation.
