Abstract: In high school,English writing is the reflection of students’ comprehensive language skill. This article reviewed the theory of mother tongue transfer, contrastive analysis and error analysis as the theoretical foundations. Then the author uses the samples of 120 compositions of Grade 1 of Qin Huai Middle School of Nanjing, and summarizes the grammar mistakes of high school students in English writing. The author puts forward the corresponding countermeasures according to analysis. In this article, the research aims to help teachers find effective writing teaching methods and reduce the influence of negative transfer of mother tongue.
