Abstract:However, the English translation of many travel texts is not satisfactory. For example, the mechanical correspondence of Chinese-English translation of tourism texts is simple and blunt; the expression is only faithful to the original in form, but ignores cultural differences, which results in the lack of communication of much information in the original text; there are certain grammatical errors and other issues. All of these have become a stumbling block to international tourism reception and hindered the realization of the intended purpose of promoting tourism development.
This article uses the specific translation of tourism texts as examples, takes the Skopos theory as a guide, analyzes the characteristics of English travel texts, and explores strategies in the translation of travel texts.
