摘要：《琵琶记》的主人公蔡伯喈历来是个充满矛盾的复杂的人物形象，他把孝道作为自己的价值取向、道德规范和行为规范，在依据当时社会的伦理纲常准则去践行时，却经受着一种孝的愿望与行为相悖逆的痛苦煎熬。蔡伯喈作为典型的传统中人，他的自然愿望的破灭折射出了传统忠孝文化的困境，说明了封建社会的所谓的“孝”实际上是皇权绝对支配下“忠”的附属品。
