在当今电视节目中，综艺类节目已经成为了不可或缺的重要组成部分，也成为了人们在茶余饭后娱乐消遣的重要方式之一。尤其在近几年，一些台湾地区的综艺节目以及内地的选秀型的节目开始广泛走入人们的视野，在几年的发展过程中，积累了很高的人气，也获得了很好的收视率。电视综艺类节目之所以得到了飞速的发展，除了与人们日益增长的精神文化需求有关，另外一个不可或缺的重要因素就是电视综艺类节目本身的质量的提高，而键盘乐器在电视综艺节目中逐步广泛应用则为该类节目增强了色彩性和娱乐性，为电视综艺类节目质量与水平的提高起到了关键性的作用。
目前，中国的电视综艺节目可以细分为很多类型，大致可分为谈话类节目和娱乐性节目，娱乐性节目若要再细分，可分为音乐类节目，互动游戏类节目，以及近两年迅速蹿红的各种相亲类的节目等等。而这些电视综艺类节目中的绝大部分都已经配备有专业的键盘手，来根据不同节目的不同需求演奏和使用键盘乐器，配合节目的进行，以达到节目应有的效果与水准。
