观察能力是智力的一种，在中小学数学教学中早已成为教学的目标之一。数学观察能力的培养是实现数学教学目标的需要，是全面提高学生素质的需要，是提高数学学习质量和课堂效率的需要。[1]进入中学后，随着中学生思维能力的不断发展，他们观察事物细节的感受性逐渐增强，但是缺乏知识经验，此时需要对学生的观察方法进行指导和训练，引导学生懂得观察的渐进性，养成反复观察，仔细观察的良好品质，通过培养和训练学生的观察能力，激发学生的观察兴趣，提高学生分析问题和解决问题的能力。[2]
