Abstract:As the 20th century British writer, the creation of modernism in Katherine Mansfield’s short stories is characterized extremely clear. “A Dill Pickle” is one of the short stories of the author. Compared with the author’s other works, though it is not her masterpiece, it is also favored. This paper will analyze “A Dill Pickle” from inner monologue, free association, time montage, point of view and other skillful use of stream of consciousness techniques. This approach reveals Vera’s a series of complex feeling vividly and lifelike. It also shows the artistic charm of the stream of consciousness technique in her short story.

中文摘要：作为20世纪的英国作家，凯瑟琳•曼斯菲尔德短篇创作中的现代主义特色是极为鲜明的。《莳萝泡菜》是作者诸多的短篇故事之一，虽然算不上作者的代表作，但和她的其他作品比，仍不逊色。本文即从《莳萝泡菜》中内心独白，自由联想，时间蒙太奇，叙述视角等多种意识流技巧的娴熟运用进行分析。这些手法生动，逼真地揭示了主人公—薇拉在六年后偶遇昔日情人的一系列复杂内心思想，也展示了意识流技巧在其小说中的艺术魅力。
