Abstract:Chinese recipe, as a way to convey information and culture, plays an important role in the intercultural communication. The accurate and authentic translation not only conveys the cooking method and ingredients of dishes, but also spreads the Chinese diet culture to the entire world. This paper first introduces the naming culture feature and cooking culture feature. Some examples are given to explain the mistranslation phenomenon and the reason of mistranslation. And it analyzes how to avoid the misuse and suggests some accurate and proper translation methods of Chinese dishes in the cross-cultural communication, including literal translation,transliteration free translation and method.
