Abstract

 

English is the most popular language which is used by people in the whole world. The population of English users and the area of English available are both huge. English now can be seen as a lingua franca because of manifold reasons. Due to the huge influence of English, learning English is now quite prevalent in those countries whose official language or second language is not English. China has the largest population in the world, and at the same time there are a growing number of people who learn English every year. Compared with other areas, China has a unique English study pattern as is deeply influenced by Confucianism. As time goes by, Chinese English (Chinglish) is gradually formed. Plus, there is a new word “China English” which has drawn people’s attention in these years. The author will concentrate on the study of traits of Chinglish and its connection with China English. Besides, the author will discuss the future trend of Chinglish to help people build a right and objective attitude to Chinglish.
